Fannie R. Veach, 90, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Fannie R. Veach, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, July 10. She was 90.

Born June 17, 1926, in North East, she was the daughter of the late Stewart VanTassell and Annie Proper.

She worked for Kings Court Hotel in Poughkeepsie. She enjoyed word search puzzles, watching game shows on TV and had many friends at Beulah Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, James H. Lawless of north Florida.; daughters, Judith Veach and fiancé Slim of Poughkeepsie and Joanne Miller of Hyde Park; several sisters and brothers; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband; and son-in-law, Dale Miller Sr.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Friday at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, in memory of her and her loving dog.
